Called to prayer in the heart of the world
We are laypeople following Jesus Christ according to the charism and spirit of Mount Carmel — living contemplative lives in the midst of everyday life
The Carmelite Way
Three pillars of our life in Carmel
Prayer
Rooted in contemplative prayer, we seek an ever-deepening relationship with God — in the tradition of Elijah, Teresa of Ávila, and John of the Cross.
Community
We gather every Thursday evening, 6–8 PM for prayer, study, and the spiritual companionship that sustains the journey.
Service
Lay Carmelites bring contemplative prayer into the world — family, work, parish — carrying the Carmelite charism into everyday life
A community of seekers
"The soul that is alone and without a master, and has virtue, is like a lone burning coal — it will grow colder rather than hotter."
— St. John of the Cross
Corpus Christi Lay Carmelite Community is a local expression of the worldwide Carmelite Family. We are men and women of all backgrounds, united by a shared desire to encounter God in prayer and silence
Under the guidance of the Order's tradition and the authority of the Prior General of the Carmelite Order, we follow the Rule of Saint Albert and the spirituality of Carmel's great saints.
